Served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1823-1831; presiding judge of the Oneida county court of common pleas, 1825-1829. Died in New Haven, Conn., 29 July 1837. James Monroe, fifth president of the United States of America (b. April 28, 1758, Monroe Hall, Virginia-d.
